8-year-old boy dies in traffic accident in Namangan

3561An 8-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a traffic accident in Namangan city, as reported by the information service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred on September 22, 2024, at approximately 12:30 PM. The driver of a GAZ-53 truck failed to notice the boy riding his bicycle in front of him. When the boy made a sudden left turn, the truck driver did not see him in time and struck him.
The child sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital; however, despite medical efforts, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
In light of this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violations of traffic safety rules resulting in death. Investigations are currently ongoing.
This tragedy follows a similar incident on September 21, when a Nexia-2 hit a 9-year-old boy riding a bicycle in Margilon. The child sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for first aid. Additionally, on September 23, a Tracker vehicle struck a 12-year-old boy riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in the Samarkand region, resulting in his admission to the Samarkand City Medical Association with injuries.
