Mirziyoyev departs for Turkmenistan

On October 10, at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan embarked on a business visit to Ashgabat. The President of Uzbekistan's press service reported this.
It is noted that on October 11, President Mirziyoyev will participate in an international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and philosopher, Makhtumkuli Firoghi. He is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings.
For reference, on October 11, Ashgabat will host the international forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations—the Basis of Peace and Development," in honor of Makhtumkuli Firoghi's 300th anniversary. Presidents from more than 10 countries, along with leaders of international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Turkish Cultural Organization (TURKSOY), the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and UNESCO, are expected to attend the conference.
It is worth noting that leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were previously announced as participants in the forum. Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan during the event to discuss the rapidly escalating situation in the Middle East. Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Turkmenistan on October 10 for an official visit.
