Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to participate in the international forum titled "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - The Basis of Peace and Development," dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the renowned Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Firoghi. The event will take place on October 11 in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

According to the International Information Center of Turkmenistan, the conference will host the presidents of over ten countries, along with leaders from various international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Turkish Cultural Organization (TYURKSOY), the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and UNESCO.

The Kremlin's press service has confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will also be in attendance. Assistant to the President of Russia Yuriy Ushakov noted that leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are expected to participate in the forum as well.

Ushakov elaborated that Turkmen authorities view this event as "a political, ideological, and spiritual platform for establishing a broad and respectful international dialogue."

A plenary meeting and an official lunch are planned as part of the forum. The event will be held across three venues: the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, and the "Ýyldyz" and "Garagum" hotels in the capital. More than 800 journalists from around the world are anticipated to cover the forum.

"The forum will serve not only as a space for exchanging ideas but also as a platform for discussing the universal values left by Makhtumkuli Firoghi. His legacy continues to inspire humanity, bridging cultures and eras. Participants will explore the philosophical foundations of peace and development articulated by the poet in his works, potentially reinvigorating modern discourse. Turkmenistan eagerly awaits guests and delegates eager to partake in this historic event, which underscores the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation in a globalized world," stated the Turkmenistan International Information Center.

Additionally, it has been reported that on the same day, October 11, President Putin will meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkiyan in Ashgabat to discuss the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.
