The President of Uzbekistan cuts short a trip to Karakalpakstan and returns to the capital

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev completed the visit to Karakalpakstan (autonomous republic) a day before the planned date. The Head of State returned to Tashkent on 24 February.

Earlier, the press office of the President reported that the first-time visit, which began on 23 February, would last three days.  

During a two-day visit, which began in Muynak, the President visited the dried-up bottom of the Aral Sea and observed the reforestation work being carried out there. The Head of the State also visited the Takhtakopir and Shumanay districts. In the Beruni district, the President laid the first stone of a wind power plant.

Mirziyoev inspected the company that produces plastic doors and window frameworks at the makhalla (neighborhood), «Chimboy Guzari» in Nukus city, the capital of Karakalpakstan, as well as the construction site of the new residential complex on the territory of the makhalla «Zeke Terek».

At the end of the visit, the President reviewed the Center for Investment Projects' activities, and returned to the capital.
