5602Today, February 26, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan phoned President Rajab Toyib Erdogan of Turkey to convey birthday wishes as Erdogan turned 70. The President's press service relayed this information.
Mirziyoyev conveyed wishes of good health, happiness, and success in Erdogan's crucial endeavors for the advancement of the Turkish nation and state.
The report highlights Erdogan's pivotal role and contributions to modern Turkey's establishment, its enhanced global influence, and the current robust strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
The conversation also emphasized the ongoing active dialogue, exchanges at various levels, and the steady growth in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two nations.
Furthermore, there was an increase reported in the number of joint ventures and projects, reaching 365 by the end of last year. Additionally, the investment portfolio with leading Turkish companies expanded, and there was a rise in direct flights and mutual tourist visits between the two countries.
The forthcoming high-level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting of the heads of state will prioritize agenda preparation, highlighting the importance of bolstering efforts within the Uzbekistan-Turkey Intergovernmental Commission. Discussions also touched upon cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States.
Rajab Toyib Erdogan, born on February 26, 1954, in Istanbul's Qosimpasha neighborhood, has been Turkey's President since August 28, 2014. Prior to his presidency, Erdogan held the position of Prime Minister from 2003 to 2014 and served as Mayor of Istanbul from 1994 to 1998. He is the founding member of the ruling “Justice and Development” Party.
No elaborate celebration is planned for Erdogan's 70th birthday. Instead, he will attend the inauguration of a transportation project in Istanbul and convene a meeting regarding the preparation of the ruling party's executive committee for the upcoming municipal elections on March 31.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkmenistan's leader, Serdar Berdimukhamedov, also extended birthday wishes to Erdogan, with Berdimukhamedov bestowing upon him the honorary title of "Hormatly il yaşulusy" ("Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan").
