Central Asia and China sign Astana declaration, agree on “Eternal Friendship”

On June 17, the heads of state from Central Asia and China signed the Astana Declaration following the second Central Asia–China Summit. This was reported by the presidential press service of Uzbekistan.
In addition to the Astana Declaration, a landmark "Agreement on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation" was signed between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and China.
The summit, chaired by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow.
The leaders discussed prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in key areas, as well as pressing international and regional issues.
Following the summit, the following documents were signed and adopted:
- Agreement on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation
- Astana Declaration of the Second Central Asia–China Summit
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the industrial departments of Central Asian countries and China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
- Action Plan to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Ministries of Economy and Trade of Central Asian countries and China
- Memorandum of Understanding on Deepening Cooperation in Barrier-Free Trade
- Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Investment Cooperation in Green Minerals
- Memorandum of Understanding on Deepening Cooperation on the China–Central Asia–Europe High-Speed Railway Project
- Action Plan for High-Quality Implementation of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative
- Initiative to Create Convenient Conditions for Mutual Travel of Citizens within the Central Asia–China Format
- Program of Joint Cultural and Humanitarian Activities for 2025–2026
- Memorandum of Understanding between customs services of Central Asian countries and China on customs risk management cooperation
- Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation in fuzzy inspection and intelligent image recognition
- Memorandum of Understanding on Simplifying Permit Issuance for International Transport
- Memorandum of Understanding between Transport Departments of China and Central Asia on Humanitarian Cooperation in Sustainable Transport
These agreements aim to deepen multilateral ties and enhance long-term collaboration across economic, cultural, technological, and transport sectors between Central Asian nations and China.
