Convicted individuals were granted certain concessions

On July 29, 2013, the Ministry of Justice issued an order from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, amending the "Regulations of the internal procedure of prison institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan," registered under state registration No. 2495.

As per the order, prisoners in general order colonies will now benefit from the following privileges annually:

- 6 short-term and 6 long-term meetings
- 12 phone calls
- 12 receptions of parcels or packages
- Ability to receive banderols 12 times.

This Ministry of Internal Affairs order became effective on December 12, 2023.

For reference, prior to this revision, prisoners were entitled to 4 short-term and 4 long-term meetings, 6 telephone conversations, and receiving 6 packages.

It's worth noting that earlier, in line with a Presidential Decree, 286 individuals serving sentences for crimes under Article 109, Clause 23 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan—who expressed sincere regret for their actions and were committed to rehabilitation—were granted pardons.
