Who can stay in the hostel for free?

On September 4, in connection with the beginning of the next academic year, the work of placing students in dormitories began.  In this process, certain categories of students are allocated benefits in paying the rent.  This was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

According to it, the amount of the allowance is determined by the Council of higher education institutions, and it can be given in the following forms:
 • complete exemption from dormitory fees;
 • give a 50 percent discount from the total payment.

The first type of privilege is given to students of the following categories:
 • those with 1-2 groups of eye diseases;
 • true orphans (both parents died) and orphans (one parent died);
 • orphanage children;
 • and students in need of social protection.

A 50 percent discount can be given to persons with disabilities of the 2nd group of general diseases and the chairman of the student council, as well as the floor captain and students responsible for the dormitory library.

For information, currently 48 thousand 976 students (30 percent) need accommodation in the city of Tashkent.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has created address lists of a total of 8,438 rental apartments that can accommodate 24,254 students.
