Starting June 3, 2024, the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched "Illegal-2024" raids in all regions to identify migration violations, according to the Foreign Labor Migration Agency.
These raids target foreign nationals who breach regulations regarding legal stay and labor migration in Kazakhstan.
"Significant legal violations have been noted in Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, and the Mangistau region. Consequently, Uzbeks traveling to and residing in Kazakhstan are urged to adhere to migration laws," the statement says.
For reference, Uzbek citizens can stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days but are not allowed to work during this period. Those traveling to Kazakhstan for work must promptly obtain both a work permit and a temporary residence permit.
Previously, law enforcement officers in Almaty arrested 27 Uzbek citizens.
