Wanted Uzbek citizen detained in Russia in connection with fraud

6849A 36-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who has been on Kazakhstan's wanted list since 2014, was detained in Russia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan reported the arrest.
The operation to locate and apprehend wanted criminals was carried out in cooperation with law enforcement agencies from the CIS countries. During the operation, officers from the Shymkent City Police Department, alongside their Russian counterparts, arrested the Uzbekistani national in the city of Lyubertsy. The man had fraudulently sold a plot of land that belonged to a woman from Shymkent in 2014, causing a financial loss of 14 thousand US dollars.
Additionally, a 28-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan was detained in Moscow. From April to October 2023, he deceived several individuals in Almaty by promising to purchase expensive smartphones, but disappeared after receiving the items. Seven people fell victim to the scam, with damages exceeding 32 million tenges (approximately 800 million soums).
According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of the year, 11 wanted criminals have been apprehended outside Kazakhstan, while 44 criminals have been detained within the country with assistance from relevant authorities of other nations.
In a previous case, an Uzbek citizen was detained at the “Jaisan” railway checkpoint in Kazakhstan's Aktobe region. This individual had been on the international wanted list for illegal drug trafficking, with charges brought by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. The suspect had been involved in organizing an international drug distribution network, and during an attempted entry into Moldova, 46 grams of heroin were found on him.
