The deputy governor of the Shumanay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan has been held accountable for the delayed consideration of an appeal submitted by the head of an LLC through the "Virtual Office of the Entrepreneur," which took more than a month. This was reported by the Business Ombudsman.

According to Article 27 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Appeals of Natural and Legal Entities," state bodies, organizations, or their officials must decide on each application or complaint and notify the applicant immediately in writing or electronically. Article 28 stipulates that within 15 days of receiving the application or complaint if additional study or documents are needed, the issue must be resolved within one month.

The Business Ombudsman filed an administrative report against the deputy governor for violating these requirements and committing an offense under Article 43 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Since the beginning of this year, the Business Ombudsman's Office has documented 88 violations by officials in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and filed administrative reports against them.

Previously, the deputy governor of Saykhunabad district for agriculture and water management issues was caught accepting a $20,000 bribe from an entrepreneur seeking to grow agricultural products on 6 hectares of land in the Sardoba district. Additionally, the deputy governor demanded $5,000 more, totaling $25,000, for formalizing a lease agreement for 50 square meters of land managed by the Regional Forestry Department. He was apprehended with the money during the transaction.
