Illegal greenhouse in Kibray discovered for theft of 1.2 billion sums of gas

Authorities have uncovered an illegal greenhouse operation in the Tashkent region, which had been illicitly consuming natural gas worth 1.2 billion sums. "Hududgaztaminot" JSC reported the discovery.  

During a routine inspection at the residence of T.M., a citizen living in the Obod residential complex in the Kibray district, officials found that the individual had set up a greenhouse and was illegally tapping into the natural gas network. The gas was being used without a meter, via a rubber hose, connected directly to the system in secretive ways.  

A formal report was filed, and the gas consumption was recalculated. The total damage caused by this illegal usage was estimated at 1 billion 259 million sums. All relevant documentation has been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.  

This case follows a similar one earlier in the city of Margilan, Fergana region, where an LLC was caught using natural gas worth 7.1 billion soms without authorization.
