Earlier, a young girl in the Kashkadarya region reported that her sister was being mistreated by their father following their mother's death. The Children's Ombudsman reacted to this situation.

A task force, comprised of representatives from the Children's Ombudsman Secretariat, the National Agency for Social Protection, and the Social and Legal Assistance Center of the DIA in Kashkadarya, has thoroughly examined reports of physical and psychological abuse against the girls.

Since March 25 of this year, M.Sh. and N.Sh. have been housed in the social-legal assistance center for minors under the DIA in Kashkadarya due to the perceived risk to their well-being.

"The working group studied the opinions of the girls on which relative they would like to live with in the future. From Friday, during the conversation with M.Sh. and N.Sh., they expressed that they absolutely did not want to live with their father R.N. According to the girls, their father R.N. did not want to send them to school, that he hindered their education, hit them with various hard objects, forced them to do unnecessary hard work (even though there is a washing machine in the household, he forced them to wash all the clothes only by hand)," the report said.

Additionally, the girls claimed that their grandmother L.N. also exerted pressure on them and made threats against their father.

The aunts of M.Sh. and N.Sh., who are the sisters of their deceased mother, expressed their love for them and their willingness to provide care in the future.

"Currently minor M.Sh. and N.Sh. In order to ensure the best interests of the children and to further study their social situation, the term of their detention in the Social and Legal Support Center for Minors under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kashkadarya Region was extended accordingly,'' the report stated.

Currently, the task force is investigating which relatives of the girls can offer suitable living arrangements and education. Furthermore, law enforcement agencies have been tasked with assessing the alleged mistreatment of the girls.
