In the Karshi district of Kashkadarya region, individuals engaged in unauthorized extraction of sand and gravel mixture were apprehended, as reported by the Department of Combating Economic Crimes.

According to reports, a swift operation was conducted by the Karshi district department of the General Prosecutor's Office in collaboration with DIA officers. Citizen I.Z. and accomplices utilized "Howo" and "Shantui" machinery to unlawfully extract sand and gravel from the Kashkadarya valley, a protected area within the state reserve.

The suspects unlawfully extracted 1.6 thousand cubic meters of sand-gravel mixture from the riverbank, resulting in a loss of 969 million soums to the state budget.

The department has initiated criminal proceedings and launched investigations into the matter under relevant articles of the Criminal Code.

It is worth mentioning that previously, it was reported that the proprietor of a greenhouse in the Pakhtachi district of Samarkand region had illicitly misappropriated 3 billion 300 million soums worth of gas.
