QALAMPIR.UZ founder Qamariddin Shaykhov honored with “Golden Pen”

On June 27, on the occasion of the Day of Press and Mass Media Workers, a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the 19th International “Golden Pen” National Award competition was held at the Uzbekistan International Conference Hall. At the event, QALAMPIR.UZ founder Qamariddin Shaykhov received the award in the category “For the Best Critical and Analytical Materials on a Topical Topic.”

The award was presented by Honored Journalist of Uzbekistan Utkir Rahmatov.

For reference, Qamariddin Shaykhov began his journalistic career in 2004 with the children's program "Kelajak Tongi" on Radio Uzbekistan.

Between 2009 and 2010, he worked at the Public Foundation for the Support and Development of Non-Governmental Electronic Mass Media. From 2010 to 2015, he served as a correspondent for "Darakchi" newspaper.

In 2015, Shaykhov graduated from the Faculty of International Journalism at the Uzbek State University of World Languages. In the same year, he founded the QALAMPIR.UZ project.

Throughout his journalistic career, Shaykhov has prepared hundreds of articles, programs, and interviews covering socio-political, cultural, and educational topics. His interviews with high-ranking officials such as Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Zokirjon Almatov, Deputy Prosecutor General Svetlana Ortikova, as well as with prominent scientists and politicians, have drawn significant public interest.

By presidential decree in 2021, Qamariddin Shaykhov was awarded the “Shuhrat” medal and the “30th Anniversary of Independence” breastplate. That same year, in September, he was also honored with the “TURKSOY International Media Award” by the TURKSOY International Turkic Cultural Organization.

Shaykhov is known for his bold reporting on pressing societal issues such as corruption, unemployment, crime, and the misappropriation of state property, as well as matters of international significance.

His work also places a strong emphasis on human rights, gender equality, and the protection of women, children, people with disabilities, and other socially vulnerable groups.
