The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced that the victor in the upcoming bout between Japan’s Naoya Inoue, the undisputed world champion, and Sam Goodman will go on to face Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Ahmadaliyev. This news was reported by World Boxing.

According to sources, if Inoue defeats Goodman on December 24 and Ahmadaliyev overcomes Ricardo Espinosa Franco, their showdown must be scheduled within 120 days.

The WBA has stipulated that the winner of the Inoue-Goodman match is obligated to fight Ahmadaliyev, with the belt on the line; failure to do so will result in the boxer forfeiting their WBA title.

It was previously reported that Ahmadaliyev would contend for the interim WBA belt on December 14, where the 29-year-old will square off against 27-year-old Mexican Ricardo Espinosa Franco in Monte Carlo, USA.
