4874Naoya Inoue, the undisputed champion in the second light heavyweight category, plans to step into the ring in Japan this September to face the mandatory challenger for the WBA title, Uzbek boxer Murodjon Akhmadaliev. This was reported by "The Ring".
“I have to fight Akhmadaliev in Japan in September. I am looking forward to it. Because I have such strong opponents, I will show my best fights. I strive to demonstrate what I am capable of. I think Akhmadaliev is a high-level fighter. In this fight, I will prove that I am an invincible champion,” said the 31-year-old boxing champion.
For context, Inoue is the undisputed world champion in the second light heavyweight category. He has fought 29 professional bouts, winning all of them. Akhmadaliev, on the other hand, has fought 14 times, with 13 wins and 1 loss.
It was previously reported that the fight is set to take place in September this year, with Inoue needing to win his May fight to qualify.
