Ilham Aliyev arrives in Uzbekistan with his wife

At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva arrived in Uzbekistan today, August 22. This was reported by the Prime Minister's press service.
The distinguished guests were welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other officials.
After a brief conversation, President Ilham Aliyev departed for his next destination according to the visit program.
Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva will be in Uzbekistan from August 22 to 23. The state visit’s program includes high-level negotiations and the first meeting of the interstate supreme council in Tashkent, chaired by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The summit's agenda will focus on further deepening and expanding the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.
Discussions will also cover increasing mutual trade, developing a new portfolio of cooperation projects, enhancing business relations, including interregional exchanges, leveraging transport and communication potential, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, among other issues.
Additionally, the Presidents are expected to meet with business representatives from both countries and participate in several business and cultural events.
