Uzbek freestyle wrestler Ghulomjon Abdullaev advanced to the semi-final round in the -57 kg weight category. In a fiercely contested match, Abdullaev faced American wrestler Spencer Lee.
Abdullaev will now compete for the bronze medal during the evening session on August 8. His opponent will be the loser of the match between Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico and Aman Aman of India.
Additionally, three more athletes from Uzbekistan will compete for Olympic medals tonight. Ulugbek Rashidov and Hasanboy Dusmatov will contend for Olympic gold in taekwondo and boxing, respectively. Meanwhile, Abdumalik Khalokov, the flag bearer of the delegation, will enter the ring in pursuit of a place in the final in his respective weight category.
