Paralympics 2024: Uzbekistan's medal count increases by one more

Uzbekistan's Dovurkhon Karomatov secured third place in the para-judo competition in France at the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics.

Competing in the men’s J2 class -90 kg weight category, Karomatov defeated Lasha Kizilashvili from Georgia to win a bronze medal, adding the 7th bronze medal to Uzbekistan's tally.

With this victory, Uzbekistan's total medal count now stands at 26 — comprising 10 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals. The team currently ranks 11th overall.

This is the second Paralympic medal in Dovurkhon Karomatov's career; he previously won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

Additionally, Roza Kuzieva from Uzbekistan lifted 147 kg to win a silver medal in the Paralympic Games' para-powerlifting competition in the -73 kg weight category.
