On September 10, para-athlete Asila Mirzayorova and para-judoka Dovurkhan Karomatov, who won medals at the 17th Paralympics, were presented with houses in Karshi. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
At the Paralympics held in Paris, eight para-athletes from Kashkadarya participated in 21 events across six sports.
Asila Mirzayorova competed in the T11 class long jump among women’s para-athletics, earning the first gold medal for the delegation with a jump of 5.24 meters and breaking a 28-year Paralympic record.
Dovurkhan Karomatov, who competed in men’s para judo in the J2 class, -90 kg weight category, won a bronze medal, marking his second time as a Paralympic medalist.
