President meets with the participants of the Paralympics in Kuksaroy

Today, on September 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the athletes who represented Uzbekistan at the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, along with their parents and coaches, at the Kuksaroy residence. The President’s press secretary, Sherzod Asadov, shared details of the meeting.

President Mirziyoyev praised the athletes for their exceptional performance, saying, "You achieved record results at the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, bringing joy to our nation. I sincerely congratulate you all on behalf of myself and our country."

Over 4,400 athletes from 168 countries participated in the games, demonstrating their prestige and global significance. The President highlighted the spirit of the Paralympics, calling them a true display of "will, courage, and humanism."

The Uzbek Paralympic team secured a total of 26 medals—10 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze—ranking 13th globally, 3rd in Asia, and 1st among Turkish and Islamic countries, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States. This marked Uzbekistan's best-ever performance at the Paralympic Games.

"This remarkable achievement is the result of your relentless dedication, strong will, and talent. It reflects our ongoing efforts to uphold human dignity in Uzbekistan," said President Mirziyoyev. He further expressed pride in the athletes and extended his best wishes for their future successes.
