Individuals who have illegally cut down or destroyed valuable varieties of trees and shrubs, which are not part of the state forest fund, are obligated to plant them as compensation and care for them for three years. In this regard, on November 20, during the latest meeting of the faction of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the second draft of the law "On amendments and additions to certain legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was considered.
The draft law establishes administrative responsibility for the development of project documents that result in the cutting, felling, damage, or destruction of valuable species of trees and shrubs. Additionally, administrative punishment measures for illegal cutting, burning, or damaging of trees are being strengthened, and overlapping norms are being removed.
Furthermore, individuals who have illegally cut down or destroyed valuable varieties of trees and shrubs, not part of the state forest fund, are required to replace the cut trees and bushes as compensation and care for them for three years. Simultaneously, financial sanctions are envisaged to be applied to legal entities for the illegal cutting or destruction of valuable species of trees and shrubs.
This bill was approved by the faction members.
