7935On September 7, the 5th Forum of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan was held.
The forum focused on discussing the party's new election program ahead of the significant political event on October 27—the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils.
A key feature of the party's election program is the inclusion of crucial initiatives and proposals aimed at achieving sustainable development, ensuring environmental security, creating a comfortable environment for both current and future generations, and implementing state policies to preserve natural resources.
The program promotes ideas such as developing a "green cadastre" of green areas and tree groves in regions and districts, and adopting state programs like "Ecologically Clean City" and "Ecologically Clean Residential Area."
In addition, the program proposes implementing safe and reliable economic reforms that support the country's development, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 65 percent by 2030, specializing the automotive industry in the production of fully electric vehicles by 2035, and doubling the share of environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources in the energy balance by 2030.
The program also includes restrictions on transplanting trees older than 10 years, a ban on the movement of passenger cars with internal combustion engines in the capital and large cities from 2030, and a ban on their sale in the country from 2035. Additionally, it proposes canceling the right to land for entrepreneurs who illegally cut down trees for construction purposes. The Forum delegates recognized these proposals as being in line with the party's "Let's unite for nature!" initiative.
The election program was approved.
