Uzbekistan’s Yokuthon Kholbekova becomes world champion (video)

An Uzbek athlete, Yokuthon Kholbekova, won the gold medal today, September 29, at the World Para Athletics Championship being held in New Delhi, India. She competed in the women’s long jump in the T12 category.

The member of the Uzbekistan national team, Kholbekova, achieved a distance of 5.54 meters, surpassing all her rivals to claim the gold medal of the tournament. This result is her best performance of the current season.

Women’s long jump (T12):

  • Gold medal: Yokuthon Kholbekova (Uzbekistan) – 5.54 meters;
  • Silver medal: Lida Lounela (Finland) – 5.28 meters;
  • Bronze medal: Hamri Lynda (Algeria) – 5.16 meters.

At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Yokuthon Kholbekova finished ninth in the women’s long jump event (T12 classification) with a result of 3.43 meters.

It is worth noting that earlier, Yorqinbek Odilov and Tolibboy Yuldoshev also won medals at the World Championship.
