SSS caught a lawyer and a former soldier who were taking bribes

State Security Service apprehended a lawyer and a former soldier who were accepting bribes in Syrdarya and Fergana regions. This was reported by the State Security Service.

The lawyer, representing a limited liability company specializing in agricultural cultivation in the Mirzaabad district of the Syrdarya region, was arrested while receiving $14,000 USD and 12 million soums from the head of another limited liability company involved in logistics services.

He had promised to reinstate the revoked certificate of the LLC and resolve positively the tax authorities' ban on collecting a value-added tax of 1 billion 950 million soums, within the framework of a criminal case initiated by the regional prosecutor's office against the head of this company under Article 167 of the Criminal Code.

Furthermore, a former military serviceman born in 1984, residing in Fergana, was apprehended with the assistance of his high-ranking acquaintances. He was caught receiving $4,000 USD for recruiting a local citizen into the internal affairs body.

Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and investigative actions are ongoing.
