This man doesn't belong to our family - the sibling of Sherali Jorayev

For years, rumors circulated alleging that singer Botir Qodirov is the offspring of Sherali Jorayev, a renowned figure in Uzbekistan. Remarkably, these rumors persisted even following Sherali Jorayev's passing. In early February of this year, Botir Qodirov took legal action to affirm his parentage, aiming to safeguard his mother's reputation.

The court, presided over by judge Otanboyeva at the Uchtepa inter-district civil court, was slated to hear this case on April 15. Nonetheless, the defendant's representative, Zohirshoh Jorayev, requested a postponement to acquaint himself with the details. Consequently, the initial court session convened on April 23. During this session, the plaintiff's representative testified, leading to a deferment of the proceedings until May 2 to summon witnesses and procure additional evidence.

Accompanying the lawsuit is an expert evaluation dated September 29, 2023, from the Republican Forensic Center named after Sulaymonova under Uzbekistan's Ministry of Justice. This evaluation posits that Halimjon Nurmatov and Botir Sheraliyevich Qodirov are cousins.

QALAMPIR.UZ reached out to Sherali Jorayev's sibling, Halimjon Nurmatov, seeking clarification on this matter. Notably, he refuted claims of a DNA test verifying the cousinship between him and Botir Qodirov.

Abdurahmon Ergashev, reporter - Several years ago, you submitted a DNA analysis to determine if you are "uncle-nephew" together with Botir Qodirov. Can you provide information on this?

Halim Nurmatov (Sherali Jorayev's brother) – I have not taken any DNA test. Botir Qodirov is not someone we care about. I don't remember exactly when I took the DNA test. But they took me to the hospital to treat my eyes. A couple of things caught my eye. I don't know why. This child is not from our lineage. If he was our nephew, wouldn't he have heard from us for so long?
 
We have a rule that says "Don't go on the roof of the house where your father is." There was a time, we were very fond of Botir Qodirov. If Sherali Jorayev was her father, there would be no current discussion. Everyone is badmouthing Brother Sher. He is also speaking on the opposite side. Who will join in silently if others insult his father? So not his father. So, he is doing these in pursuit of wealth and something. He doesn't even need a father.

A.E.: - At a wedding in Andijan 30 years ago, you said that Botir Qodirov is the son of Sherali Jorayev.

H.N.: - I didn't say that. Andijan people used to say that.

A.E.: - As Sherali Jorayev's brother, do you testify that Sheraliyevich Botir Qodirov is really your brother's son?

H.N.: - No. Not his son. Brother Sher also has a video saying "he is not my son". At that time, we were at the wedding together with Sherali Jorayev. If Sherali Jorayev does not confess, how can I say that he is his son? I saw Botir Qodirov when he was five years old. He has an aunt, with whom I have seen. If Sherali Jorayev had not told the whole world that "this is not my son", we would have said that he is a son of my brother, Sherali Jorayev. If there was no saying among people from those times that "this is the son of Sherali Jorayev", if it was not for the name of brother Sher, this boy would not be famous. When he was in his right mind, he should have been singing instead of running from court to court.

A.E.: - According to our information, Shohjakhon and Zohirshoh Jorayev said bad things about the honor of Botir Qodirov's mother. Qodirov also appealed to the court, claiming that he was really Jorayev's child in order to vindicate his mother's name.

H.N.: - Botir Qodirov's mother was not a bad woman. Brother Sher himself knows whether Qodirov is a son of Sherali Jorayev.

For information, documents were submitted to the court by the Yangiyol District Registry Office, stating that on February 26, 2008, Botir Qodirov's surname was changed from "Jorayev" to "Qodirov", and his father's name was changed from "Sherali ogli" to "Sheraliyevich".

Also, Botir Qodirov said that the reason for suing the Jorayevs was Sherali Jorayev's eldest son Shohjakhon Jorayev's post insulting him on his social network page.
