“Uzbekneftegaz” JSC has stopped selling AI-80 gasoline through exchange trading as of today, September 2, the company’s press service reported.

According to the report, in line with the presidential decree on implementing the “Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy and the state program for environmental protection and the “green economy” year, “Uzbekneftegaz” is gradually shifting to the production of higher-octane (AI-92) gasoline. Starting in September, only high-octane gasoline will be offered on the exchange. Consequently, sales of AI-80 gasoline via the exchange have been suspended.

At the same time, the volume of AI-92 gasoline available on the exchange has increased. While 1,000 tons of AI-92 were previously offered, the current volume has risen to 1,720 tons. There is potential to further increase this amount depending on domestic market demand.

"It is reported that the volumes of AI-80 gasoline purchased by entrepreneurial consumers in August will also be delivered to their owners in September, within the framework of obligations and existing stock", the report stated.

It was announced earlier that according to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated January 30 of this year on the “State program for implementing the Uzbekistan-2030 strategy in the year of Environmental protection and green economy”, the use and sale of AI-80 grade automobile fuel will be restricted by the end of this year, while ensuring that the population is provided with high-quality, environmentally friendly, and affordable fuel.
