Earlier, it was reported that a man stabbed his wife and mother-in-law to death in the Chinaz district of the Tashkent region. A court verdict has now been delivered in the case, with the 25-year-old defendant sentenced to 22 years in prison. The decision was reported on the "Millar" program.

The incident occurred in March of this year. The man, who was reportedly living at his mother-in-law’s house and had a history of alcohol abuse, stabbed his wife six times and his mother-in-law eight times.

The case was heard on July 29 in the Chinaz District Criminal Court.

“On March 19, he called me. I went home. I climbed over the wall and broke the window. Strange men were visiting his mother. A boy opened the gate and ran off. I thought he was someone who had come for his mother. Then my wife came out after him. She admitted to what she had done. After being caught in an act of betrayal, I lost control,” the defendant stated in court.

According to the case materials, the man stabbed his wife and mother-in-law until the knife bent and broke. He was found guilty under Article 97, Part 2, Subparagraphs “a”, “j”, “o”, and “r” of the Criminal Code (intentional murder with aggravating circumstances) and sentenced to 22 years in prison. The first two years will be served in prison, with the remainder to be served in a general-regime colony.

It should be recalled that another case was recently reported in which a singer named Zebo, from Toyloq district in the Samarkand region, was killed by her husband. A criminal case was initiated under Article 97, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (intentional murder), and the suspect was detained.
