Drivers whose vehicles emit high levels of pollutants have been fined

7522Since April 10th of this year, 518 vehicles have been identified as emitting harmful substances beyond acceptable levels into the atmosphere, according to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
During the ongoing first phase of "Clean Air Month" across all regions of the country, environmental checks have been conducted on 58,822 vehicles since April 10th.
This enforcement aligns with the provisions outlined in Articles 16, 17, and 28 of the Law "On Protection of Atmospheric Air," Article 11 of the Law "On Environmental Control," and state-mandated environmental assessments of vehicle conditions.
As a result, 518 vehicles have been found to exceed acceptable pollutant levels. A total of 303 drivers were fined a sum of 50.1 million soums under relevant articles of the Administrative Responsibility Code, and the movement of 222 vehicles was temporarily halted.
It's worth noting that starting June 1, 2024, electronic stickers will be issued to cars based on their environmental impact level.
