Individuals were caught for embezzling car loan funds

Cases of embezzlement involving car loan funds have been uncovered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Kashkadarya region, according to a report by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office.
In a pre-investigation inquiry conducted by the department in Karakalpakstan, it was revealed that responsible individuals from LLC "D." embezzled 595 million sums. The funds were taken as a loan from a regional commercial bank for the purchase of an "Isuzu" truck under the condition that the vehicle would be used as collateral.
Similarly, in a separate pre-investigation carried out by the Karshi city department, it was discovered that citizen B.E. and accomplices caused a loss of 354.9 million soums to the bank by selling a Kia Carnival car, which had been purchased with a loan from the bank’s regional branch.
Criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing in connection with these incidents.
It is worth recalling that earlier in Kokand, Fergana region, individuals who embezzled a total of 6.3 billion sums in car loans issued under the names of 19 citizens were arrested.
