Statue of Alisher Navoi was installed in Ankara

2351On August 30 of this year, the opening ceremony of a statue of Alisher Navoi was held in the Keçiören district of Ankara as part of the events marking the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. This was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.
The event was attended by representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the TÜRKSOY organization, Ankara city and district administrations, rectors of higher education institutions, linguists, and members of the general public.
"I sincerely believe that the unveiling of the magnificent statue of our great ancestor in Ankara is a great honor not only for us but also for all our brothers in Turkey and throughout the Turkic world," said Ambassador Alisher Azamkhodjaev.
For information, statues of Navoi have previously been installed in Moscow, Dushanbe, Astana, Tokyo, Minsk, Shanghai, Seoul, and Baku.
We remind you that earlier this month, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan unveiled a statue of Alisher Navoi in Astana. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev described it as "a symbol of the Kazakh people's special respect for the Uzbek people."
