Ulugbek Khobiljonovich Khobiljonov, the city prosecutor of Angren in the Tashkent region, has been dismissed from his position due to his appointment to a new role. This announcement was made by Angren's city hall.
Ulugbek Khobiljonov has been appointed as the prosecutor of the Chilonzor district in Tashkent city.
Since August 2022, Jahongir Murodov has held the position of prosecutor for the Chilonzor district.
On January 20, 2023, Ulugbek Khobiljonov involved teachers from school No. 22 in Angren in cleaning the school grounds. The Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova, responded to the situation, noting that the General Prosecutor's Office had taken control of the matter. The Tashkent regional prosecutor's office reported that Khobiljonov faced disciplinary action for errors and shortcomings in his duties.
Subsequently, Ulugbek Khobiljonov issued a video apology to the teachers involved in the forced labor, explaining that he had asked the school administration to engage appropriate personnel to address the issue, rather than calling the teachers to intervene directly.
