The court has sentenced the deputy prosecutor of Asaka district and an investigator from the district prosecutor's office, who had promised to release a detained individual in the Andijan region in exchange for a bribe. This information was reported by the source QALAMPIR.UZ.
It was reported that deputy prosecutor S.Kh. and investigator Kh.A., along with citizens F.R. and O.A., were involved in a case where 2.5 billion soums of damage was determined in the preliminary investigation. This damage was related to construction and repair works that exceeded the provisions in the estimated documents. They falsely promised to change the preventive measure of imprisonment applied to A.A.'s brother, B.A., for 15,000 US dollars.
The defendant S.Kh. did not admit guilt, stating that he served as deputy district attorney of Asaka from November 30, 2022, to January 23, 2024. He was on leave from December 18, 2023, to January 22, 2024, and claimed he resigned based on his own application.
The court found former deputy prosecutor S.Kh. guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code: Article 25 (Preparation and attempt to commit a crime), Article 28 (Types of participants in crime), Article 168 (Fraud), Part 4, Item "a", and Article 211 (Bribery), Item "a" of Part 3. He was sentenced to 2 years of correctional labor with 20 percent of his salary deducted for state income, deprived of the right to work in law enforcement agencies for 2 years, and sentenced to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Additionally, former investigator Kh.A. was also found guilty under the above articles. He was deprived of the right to work in law enforcement agencies for 2 years and sentenced to 6 years and 1 month of imprisonment.
