Andijan deputy governor Avazbek Ergashev passes away

13026Avazbek Yaqubjonovich Ergashev, the Deputy Governor of the Andijan region responsible for agriculture and water management, has tragically passed away. The press service of the Kurgantepa district government confirmed his death.
Born in 1966 in the Altynkul district of Andijan, Avazbek Ergashev was an accomplished professional in the field of agriculture. He graduated from the Andijan Cotton Institute in 1992 and began his career in 1983 as a member of the “Aq-tepa” cooperative farm in Altynkul.
Throughout his distinguished career, Ergashev held several important roles. From 1992 to 2024, he served in various positions within the agricultural sector, including entomologist-agronomist, chief agronomist, and deputy chairman of the “Aq-tepa” joint-stock farm. He also held key leadership positions such as the chairman of the Andijan region "Cotton Seed" association, deputy head of the Republican Center for "Cotton Seed" at the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, and mayor of Kurgantepa district.
In addition to his work in local governance, Ergashev served as the deputy governor of both the Syrdarya region and, more recently, the Andijan region for agricultural and water resources. His long-standing dedication to agriculture and water management left a lasting impact on the development of the region.
