On November 1, a video surfaced on social media showing a man who allegedly set himself on fire after losing money in an online gambling game. To clarify the situation, QALAMPIR.UZ reached out to Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Shamsutdinov reported that R.F., a 24-year-old resident of Andijan City, poured gasoline on himself on October 31 at around 10:40 p.m. and committed suicide. He was subsequently transported to the regional branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care with severe burn injuries.

"R.F. entered a Paynet branch, set himself on fire, and left the scene; this was captured by video cameras both inside and outside the branch," Shamsutdinov stated.

R.F. is currently receiving necessary medical treatment at the regional medical facility, and a forensic examination of his injuries is underway as part of the investigation.

This tragic incident follows a series of similar cases in Uzbekistan, including a 29-year-old woman who set herself on fire in June in the Yangikurgan district of the Namangan region, and a 58-year-old man who, in September, set his wife on fire in Kashkadarya after accusing her of infidelity.
