23614Alisher Kadyrov, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, has responded to remarks made by Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of Russia’s Federation Council, during an interview with Lenta.ru.
Earlier, Klimov had invoked the situation in Ukraine while responding to Kadyrov's call for Russia to "mind its internal affairs."
"In the case of Ukraine, the intimidation was more vividly delivered by [Tigran] Keosayan. It's better to leave the work to the masters," Kadyrov responded, in a post on his Telegram channel.
Kadyrov also sarcastically remarked that he was "afraid of losing a market like Russia."
For context, Tigran Keosayan is the husband of Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Russia Today (RT), Russia Segodnya, and Sputnik, which are considered major pillars of Russia's state propaganda. In April 2022, Keosayan posted a controversial video on his YouTube channel accusing Kazakhstan of ingratitude and advising the country to learn from Ukraine’s fate.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Keosayan was subjected to personal sanctions by the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and several other countries. In June 2022, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared Keosayan a "persona non grata."
It is also worth noting that earlier, Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the national movement "Yuksalish" and a deputy of the Oliy Majlis, responded to Klimov's remarks reminding of Ukraine's fate, telling him to "take a compass and travel in four directions with his candlesticks."
