5192On February 3, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that an assistant mayor in Tashkent’s Shaykhantohur district had misappropriated 427.7 million sums for personal use. However, on February 4, the Tashkent city administration issued a denial, stating that the assistant mayor had resigned from his position in November of the previous year at his own request. In response, the Prosecutor General's Office reiterated its stance.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, M.F. served as the assistant khokim of the "Kamolon Darvoza" citizens' assembly in Shaykhantohur district from October 7, 2022, to November 29, 2024. His responsibilities included fostering entrepreneurship, promoting employment, and addressing poverty issues within the mahalla. He was officially dismissed from his position on December 14, 2024, by a decision from the district governor.
The acts referenced in the original report were alleged to have occurred during M.F.'s tenure as assistant to the governor.
“Information must be truthful and impartial,” emphasized the statement from the Prosecutor General's Office.
