Truck driver from Uzbekistan dies in a car accident in the USA

An 18-wheeler truck traveling on the I-10 highway in the United States was involved in a traffic accident, resulting in the death of the 38-year-old driver, Jamoliddin Tohirov, from Uzbekistan. This was reported by QALAMPIR.UZ.

"Jamol is my cousin. He wanted to return to his homeland; he was planning to return in August-September. He was going back to Uzbekistan to bring his grandmother's prayers. We talked every day, but we did not communicate for the last 2-3 days," said a relative of the deceased in an interview with QALAMPIR.UZ.

The incident happened on July 22 around 8:30. A 2022 Freightliner Semi Tractor was traveling near the Highland Road exit ramp on I-10 East when the truck crashed into an internal concrete barrier. Traffic cameras captured footage of the 18-wheeler hanging over part of the highway.

According to police, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
