Earthquake in Afghanistan felt in Uzbekistan

Today, October 7, at 16:35 Tashkent time, an earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, the Republican Center for Seismoprognostic Monitoring reported.

According to the data, the epicenter of the quake was located 434 km southeast of Tashkent, with a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of 30 km. The epicentral intensity reached 5 points. The coordinates of the epicenter: 37.4° N latitude, 69.93° E longitude.

In the territory of Uzbekistan, the earthquake was felt as follows:

  • Shurchi district – 2 points (192 km);
  • Uzun district – 2 points (199 km);
  • Denov district – 2 points (204 km);
  • Kumkurgan district – 2 points (211 km);
  • Sariosiyo district – 2 points (211 km);
  • Altinsay district – 2 points (212 km).

It is worth noting that earlier, a 7-point earthquake in Kyrgyzstan was also felt across Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
