We call on the Afghan government to cut ties with terrorists – Mirziyoyev

7469The interim government of Afghanistan must comply with the basic requirements of the international community. This was mentioned in the address of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the participants of the international conference "Afghanistan: security and economic development" which is being held today, 26 July.
"We call on the current government of Afghanistan to take drastic measures to prevent and combat all forms and aspects of terrorism, to sever ties with all international terrorist organizations," the president said in his address.
The address by the head of state was read out by Abdulaziz Komilov, the special representative of the president on foreign policy issues.
According to QALAMPIR.UZ, at the conference:
Development of concrete proposals for the coordinated actions of the international community in the direction of Afghanistan, the economic recovery of this country, and the provision of urgent humanitarian aid to the Afghan people;
Establish effective international dialogue on accelerating the implementation of the main demands of the world community by the new government of Afghanistan (establishing a government based on broad representation, respecting women's rights, and ensuring that girls receive a full school education) ;
Confirming the commitments taken by the provisional government of Afghanistan to prevent the use of the territory of this country against the security interests of neighboring countries, other countries of the region, and the whole world;
The issues of cancelling checks on Afghanistan's financial assets abroad, as well as explaining the importance of implementing various infrastructure projects in the fields of transport, communication, and energy in the country were discussed.
Addressing the fulfillment of the above conditions, President Mirziyoyev said:
"This will lead to the strengthening of confidence in the interim government, opening up clear prospects for Afghanistan's sustainable development in an atmosphere of friendship, close neighborliness, and mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring countries and the international community."
