Suspect in death of Russian General Kirillov, Akhmad Kurbanov, held for two months

17723Akhmad Kurbanov, a suspected accomplice in the death of Russian General Igor Kirillov and reportedly a citizen of Uzbekistan, has been detained for two months. This information was reported by TASS.
According to the report, Kurbanov was brought to the Basmanny courtroom in Moscow, wearing a T-shirt with the inscription "We can save the world." The court session, which took place behind closed doors, was also attended by an interpreter requested by Kurbanov. By the end of the hearing, the court decided to remand him in custody until February 17, 2025. Kurbanov faces charges of "illegal production of explosives."
Earlier reports revealed that Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, was killed in an explosion in Moscow. A 29-year-old man, identified as a citizen of Uzbekistan, was detained as a suspect in connection with Kirillov's death.
Russian security forces have reportedly appealed to Uzbek authorities for information about the suspect. Upon receiving the request, Uzbek officials immediately sent the necessary information on the detained individual to Moscow.
In response to media reports regarding the involvement of an Uzbek citizen in the incident, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia announced that it was working to verify information about the suspect.
