9855A 40-year-old Uzbek man stabbed another passenger at Krasnoyarsk Airport in Russia, according to the Siberian transport police.
Preliminary reports indicate that on the first floor of the airport complex, the suspect attacked a 39-year-old victim, stabbing him multiple times with a knife. Two witnesses and transport police officers, who arrived at the scene within seconds, managed to detain the suspect.
Witnesses reported that the attacker initially appeared calm but suddenly charged at the victim, stabbing him several times. The victim, who did not know the suspect, was hospitalized with serious injuries to his back and ear.
A criminal case has been opened, and law enforcement officials are investigating the motive behind the attack. One theory is that the suspect may have been intoxicated at the time. During his arrest, he did not resist and dropped the knife to the floor.
It is important to note that earlier reports indicated a separate incident involving a 21-year-old man from Uzbekistan, who was suspected of raping a 25-year-old woman in St. Petersburg while being in Russia illegally.
