Citizen causes 247 million soums in damages by cutting down 4 walnut trees

A citizen in the Tashkent region caused environmental damage amounting to 247.5 million soums after cutting down four walnut trees without the necessary permits. This incident was reported by the Regional Department of Ecology.

The violation occurred on a plot of land designated for the construction of commercial stores and household service facilities at the entrance to the New Uzbekistan massif in Chirchik City. The walnut trees, which were in a state of growth, were cut down without any authorization.

By these actions, the individual breached the relevant articles of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Protection and Use of Flora," causing significant harm to the environment.

"The case has been documented, and the materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of the Tashkent region for further action," the report states.

Earlier, a similar incident in the Tashkent region saw a citizen illegally cut down trees, resulting in 260 million soums in environmental damages.
