On May 31, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting with India's newly appointed ambassador to Uzbekistan. Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received the ambassador's credentials during the event, which he later announced on his Telegram channel.

During the meeting, representatives from both nations discussed enhancing mutual relations in various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, transport, logistics, and more.

"We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Smita Pant as the new ambassador of India to Uzbekistan and to receive her credentials. Our primary objective remains the development of trade and investment cooperation. We wish the ambassador success in exploring the untapped potential of our bilateral relations," stated the minister.

It is worth noting that Thailand and the Philippines have also recently appointed new ambassadors to Uzbekistan.
