Driver falls asleep at the wheel, resulting in fatal crash

In the Samarkand region, a Nexia-3 driver fell asleep at the wheel, causing the car to veer off the road and overturn several times. This was reported by the Road Traffic Safety Service of the Public Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the report, the incident occurred on July 20th at around 6:00 AM on the 4R-54 highway passing through the Jarquduq neighborhood of the Nurobod district. The Nexia-3 driver, heading in the Ingichka-Kattaqo‘rg‘on direction, fell asleep. Consequently, the driver lost control, veered to the right side of the road, and the car overturned multiple times. Both the driver and a passenger in the front seat were hospitalized.
“Despite the medical treatment provided, the passenger passed away in the hospital. A pre-investigation check is underway regarding the incident,” the report said.
It is worth noting that last month in the Sirdarya region, a road traffic accident involving a car and a truck occurred due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
