Traffic safety actions taken against roof riders in Samarkand

In the Samarkand region, legal action was taken against citizens who rode on the roof of a car while driving through the streets, according to the Traffic Safety Department of the regional Internal Affairs Department.

The incident occurred in the Payariq district, where the driver of a “VAZ21053” vehicle allowed passengers to ride on the roof while driving through the inner streets. This dangerous act posed a risk to the lives of both the driver and others on the road. As a result, legal action was taken against both the driver and the passengers, and educational efforts were made to raise awareness of traffic safety.

“We urge all drivers to adhere to road safety culture and follow traffic regulations,” the report emphasized.

It is worth noting that a similar case occurred earlier in the Khorezm region, where drivers who operated vehicles in groups near a school were punished. Administrative reports were filed against these drivers for violating traffic rules under Part 2 of Article 128-5 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Obstruction or creation of an accident by drivers of vehicles, entering the oncoming traffic lane). Their vehicles were temporarily impounded.
