Mother uses violence against child to pressure ex-husband

In the Surkhandarya region, a woman beat her child to intimidate her ex-husband for not paying alimony and other material support. The Children's Ombudsman responded to this case.

It is noted that the incident occurred 1 year ago. A woman named T.M., born in 2001, living in the Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region, quarreled with her ex-husband A.Q., born in 1994, in May 2024. To put pressure on the child's father for not paying alimony and other material support, she made a video call to intimidate him, beat her 2-year-old child A.R., filmed it, and sent it to her ex-husband.

Since the pre-investigation examination revealed that the child's health was not harmed, on May 14, 2024, the woman was found guilty of committing an offense under the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and the issue of her liability was resolved by the Sariosiyo District Criminal Court.

It is reported that T.M. is currently in a conflict with her ex-husband and his family members, and pre-investigation investigations are underway in this regard.
