Bakery and machine shop detected in Khorezm for stealing 1.3 billion sums of gas  

A car service station and a bakery in the Urgench district of the Khorezm region have been found to have stolen 1.3 billion sums worth of natural gas, according to a report by the Ministry of Energy.

Authorities detected violations in the use of natural gas at the two facilities, which are registered as a limited liability company in the Urgench district of Khiva. It was revealed that company officials had illegally connected to the public natural gas network through secret channels and used it for commercial purposes.  

To date, a total of 512,658.8 cubic meters of gas have been unlawfully consumed, causing damage amounting to 1 billion 332 million sums to the state.  

A criminal case has been initiated against those responsible under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is ongoing.  

Previously, a gas station in the city of Bekabad, Tashkent region, was found to have stolen 11.4 billion sums worth of natural gas.
