Supreme Council of Judges reacts to Jorayevs' court discussion

As reported, on September 11, the Uchtepa Inter-District Civil Court of Tashkent heard the case filed by singer Botir Kadyrov concerning the determination of paternity, and a verdict was announced. The discussion surrounding this court case continues on social media, even after the decision was rendered. The press service of the Supreme Council of Judges has issued a response to the ongoing situation.

"Discussions on social networks have persisted even after the court’s decision, reaching a point where further commentary seems unnecessary. However, in the 'virtual exchanges' between the involved parties and their supporters following the trial, there have been instances of inappropriate and baseless insults directed at the judge who presided over the case," the statement read.

The situation escalated after blogger Jasur Hamraev alleged on social media that the plaintiff had "long arms," implying that he had improperly influenced the judge, claiming, "... his long arms reached the judge."

"Furthermore, the judge's error regarding the date of the late artist’s death and his slight nervousness while delivering the verdict have been exaggerated by some, with remarks like "What did you see?!" spreading across social media pages and channels associated with the defendant. This has led to doubts about the judge’s impartiality," the official report stated.

In response, the Supreme Council of Judges stated that the accusations and claims regarding the supposed influence over the judge must be given a legal assessment and appropriate measures will be taken to address the issue.
